Five Question Friday

I just want to apologize for not being around much.  Been a lot of stuff going on.  Packing, trying to find a place to live, sister-in-law in the hospital.  I'll post about everything very soon.  Whenever I can find the energy.

Now it's time for Five Question Friday.

1. How many pets do you have?

I have five; two dogs and three cats.

Kenai and Root Beer

Trauma, Oliver and Nugget

2. If you could switch places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be?

I honestly have no idea.  I've never really thought about it.
3. What is your favorite money saving tip?

Forget it's there.  Which is know is hard.  But Hubs and I save our money in cash and hide it.  It helps a lot.  I can't tell you how many times I completely forget about it.

4. What do you want your kids to be when they grow up?

Whatever they want.  I've never really thought about it before though.  I know Hubs has.  He wants them to fly helicopters.  He wants them to join the military because he wishes that's something he would have done.  I personally don't like that idea, because I would be sad to see my kids get deployed somewhere, but if that's what they wanted to do then I would support them.

5. What is your favorite quote?

Five Question Friday

1. Do you have any nicknames and if so how did it come about?

My brother started calling me Kater when I was little.  I’m not sure were it came from or why he started calling me that, but it stuck.  And now that’s what I’m called by everyone.  My brother, mom, dad, brother’s long time best friend.  My brother’s best friends kids and my nephew are actually being taught to call me Auntie Kater’s.  I’m not sure how I feel about that.

2. What is your birth order amongst your siblings?

I have on older brother.  He was born February 17, 1981.  He is seven years older than me and we’ve never been really close.  Which makes me sad.

brother and me

3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other?

Everyone says Hubs looks and acts like Seth Rogan, especially with his beard.  He hates when he gets the comment, but it’s probably the closest person.

4. What is currently your favorite song?

My favorite song hasn’t changed in awhile.  It’s been Who Needs Air by The Classic Crime for awhile now.  But a close second it My Best Friend or Unbroken by Tim McGraw.

5. Are you saving your money for anything right now? Big or small purchase?

Right now the money we are saving is for just in case.  Hubs has been unemployed for almost seven months so all the money we have set aside is just in case my income isn’t enough.  I would really love to be saving it up for something fun, like a vacation.  But that’s just not going to happen right now.

Day 21 - A Recipe

This is my Grandma's recipe for tuna noodle casserole.  Nothing fancy, but I love that it's my Grandma's.  And its simple, just like me.

Tuna Noodle Casserole

Ingredients:

tuna noodle casserole (1)

  • 1 - 12 oz. package of noodles
  • 2 - 10.5 cans of cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 - 5-6 oz. cans of tuna
  • 1 - 15 oz. can of peas (you can use a smaller can)
  • lots of shredded cheese, whatever kind you like
  • French's French Fried Onions or crushed up Lay's Potato Chips
  • Nature's Seasoning or whatever your prefer
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
  2. Cook the noodles as directed on the package.  Whatever kind you like.  I normally use rotini, but I decided to use bowties instead.
  3. Put cooked noodles in a casserole dish.

    tuna noodle casserole (2)
  4. Mix in cream of mushroom soup, tuna and peas.  You can also add some shredded cheese, I do.

    tuna noodle casserole (3)
  5. Put in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
  6. After 15-20 minutes remove from over and add French’s French Fried Onions or crushed up Lay’s Potato Chips (Lay’s are what my Grandma originally used, I think I learned about French’s from my Mom) and lots of cheese.
  7. Then put back in the oven for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

This past weekend I got to hang out wtih my extremely adorable nephew.

Eatin' snack while Grandma works on dinner.

Worn out after a long day of swimming.

Reading is one of my most favorite things to do.

What's a hobby of yours?

Day 19 - A Talent of Yours

I don't think I've discovered my talent yet.

Hubs said today "talent is something that you're born with not something you learn."  So he says my talent is the fact that I'm double jointed.

This was a really tough one for me.  It made me realize that I don't have a talent.  I need to work on discovering what it is.

What's a talent of yours?

Day 18 - My Wedding

Hubs and I got married in La Jolla, CA on April 7, 2009.

We only had imediate family there.

My mom, dad, brother and sister in law. His mom, dad and sister.
As well as the maid of honor and best man.

We technically eloped, but we still treated it like a regular ceremony.  Hubs and I didn't see eachother until I walked down the "aisle".

Our ceremony was quick and afterwards the marriage license was signed and we took some family photos and then photos with just the two of us.

After all the photos we went to a restaurant near our hotel called The Spot. It was great and simple. Exactly what I wanted.

Getting to Know YOU

Getting to know YOU

The Q's.

1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body?

Beach volleyball player.

2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator?

I am a planner.  I always like to know what's going to happen and when.

3. Diet or regular (soda)?

Regular. Diet sodas always have a weird taste.

4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?

I don't know.  I've never really thought about it.  We don't have fall in AZ.

5. What's your favorite fast food restaurant?

Sonic. I love their tots!

6. What do you think is the sexiest profession for a guy?

Whatever he's happy doing.  A happy man is a sexy man.

7. Did you wear braces?

Nope.  I thought I was going to have to, but never ended up with them.

8. Would you rather have a guy that's super sexy or kind?

Kind.  I hate douchebags.

Starry Night by Van Gogh

Day 16 - A Song That Makes You Cry (or Nearly)

This song was played at my grandparents funeral.  It makes me think of them.

Day 15 - Your Dream House

House Front:
I love the porch and it looks like there's some land to it.

Living Room:
Add family pictures, and a plushier couch.

Master Bedroom:

Kitchen:

Master Bathroom:
With a bear claw tub and a stand up shower.

Closet:
I love all the organization!

Laundry Room:
Different washer and dryer, but close!

I'd love to have 3-4 rooms; master, two kids rooms, and an extra for Hubs and my extra stuff.  2-3 bathrooms; master bath, one for the kids and one for guests.  Two car garage.  Huge backyard.  I want to live on some land.  I'm sure there's more, but these are the basics.  I hope to get them all one day. :)

1. Have you ever visited another country?

Yes, when I was 11, right after 7th grade.  I went to Germany, Switzerland and Austria with People to People.  Kind of like Junior Ambassadors, but you never have someone come stay with you.  My brother did Junior Ambassadors and went to Japan.  I wish I would have been older so I could enjoy it more and remember it more.  I'd like to go back though.

2. Where is the strangest place you have ever been?

I honestly can't think of anything right now.  If I do, then I'll update this.

3. What is your favorite season?

Winter in Arizona.  It's not really winter for most people.  But I enjoy it.

4. What one song will always cheer you up?

I'm not sure.  I've never had a go to song to cheer me up.  Just something up beat could probably do it.

5. What Disney character do you resemble most?

I honestly have no idea.  I tried asking Hubs for help, but he didn't.  He said I reminded him of Piglet in the sense that he worries all the time and so do I.

Day 14 - A Non-fictional Book

Find it on Amazon.

Such an awful thing to happen.  But his writing almost makes you feel like you're there with him through the whole thing.  Reading this books just made me wish I could hold him and tell him everything was going to be alright.

No child should be treated this way.

Day 13 - A Fictional Book

Find it on Amazon.

I recently wrote about this book here.

Awful...ly Bad TV Tuesday

The Bachelor Pad is my main focus today.

My "favorite" participants:

Elizabeth: The Tramp.  (Who am I kidding?  They're probably all tramps.)
The girl who was cheating on Jake with a producer while she was on the show.  And now she's in love Kovacs who's another world class douchebag.

Craig: The Douchebag.

I think he might be the biggest one in the entire world.  He seems like he could be a nice guy.  Just drop the douchebag façade, Craig!

Jonathan: The Weatherman.

I love that he doesn't get his own name.  He's just "Weatherman".  No woman there is going to want to hook up with him.  Unless of course they're crazy drunk, which could very well happen.

Michelle: The Bat-Shit-Crazy.

Do remember her from the Jake season?  She's bat shit crazy!  Man I'm happy she was voted off the show last night.  Poor Tenley getting locked in the bathroom with her.  As I told Hubs, I would have kicked Michelle's ass if she locked me in the bathroom with her.

Did you watch Bachelor Pad last night?  Who are your "favorites"?

Can I have this laundry room, please? LOVE IT!

Laundry.  I'm picky about how it's folded.  No one else can seem to do it right.

At least to me, anyways. :)

What's something you're OCD about?

Day 11 - A Photo of You Recently

June 2010. Wear green for Wyatt River memorial day.

Dear Monday,

Please go away.  No one likes you.

All anyone thinks about on a Monday is how they still wish it was the weekend.  They wonder where did the time go.  They wish they were still cuddled up in their bed still sleeping.  Or out exploring the world.

Not stuck at work.

Monday, please just go away.

Sincerely,

Me

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday, but I didn't see her.  But that's because Hubs and I went over to see her yesterday.  So we could also see our nephew, since she was babysitting.  I got her exactly what she asked for -- coasters for her desk at work.  And a funny card with a half naked man and two boxer puppies.

My parents took us out to lunch with them for my mom's birthday.  We went to Lone Star.  I shared my french fries with my adorable nephew.

Today Hubs and I finished watching the second season of Pushing Daisies.  It's an adorable show, but I'm sad it's over now.  We started watching Dollhouse next.  It's quite weird, so far.  Very trippy.  Have you watched either?

I haven't read at all since Friday night.  I'm feeling like quite the slacker.  I've been on my laptop more though, but still haven't been posting here as much as I should.  Still in a bit of a funk, but I'll try to write through it.  No matter how much the writing sucks.

All in all this weekend has been quite lazy, like they always are for us.

How was your weekend?

Getting to know YOU

The Q's.

1. Do you think mustaches are sexy?

Not really mustaches.  But I love beards now.  Hubs grows his out.

2. What's the last concert you've been to?

Fall Out Boy about three and a half years ago.

3 What was your favorite 80's sitcom?

Who's The Boss, maybe.  I don't really remember much TV from the 80's because I was born in 1988, so all I really saw were the reruns.

4. Were you named after anyone?

Nope, my mom found my name in one of her romance novels.

5. When you buy new clothes, do you wash before wearing?

Yes, for the most part.

6. If you didn't blog, what would you do with your spare time?

Read and watch TV.  That's what I do already.

7. What is your favorite department store?

I don't have a favorite department store.

8. If you were to get Laser Hair Removal..where would you get it?

Everywhere.  I hate hair and I hate shaving.  I can't shave my legs frequently because my skin is really sensitive.  My legs break out and it's gross. :(

8th Grade. Age 12. (almost 10 years)

I look like a player with all these boys.
