Wordless Wednesday

On our to Vegas we I stopped to take pictures of the Hoover Dam.

I made Hubs pose for me. :)

This one is my favorite!

Tattoo Tuesday

I had Hubs zoom out a bit so you could see where it is.

Plumeria and Hibiscus; Location: right shoulder; Age: 16

This one is a mother/daughter tattoo. My mom has hers in the same place; except it's smaller than mine.  There's not a huge meaning behind this tattoo just we had talked about getting a tattoo together and the perfect time seemed to be when we were in Hawaii.  It was a good was to remember the trip we went on.

We got them at Blue Kauai Tattoo in Hanalei, Hawaii by Lad. Blue Kauai doesn't exist anymore; it is now Uncle Tim Tattoo or Blue Tiki.

This is still one of my favorite tattoos.  I love the colors and the simplicity of it.  I never knew how much of a passion tattoos would be for me.

Share your tattoo with us!  Don't forget to link your post!

Brawlarinas v. Surly Gurlies

Last night was the second time we went to see the Arizona Roller Derby.  This time was even better.  We actually got to sit and enjoy the bouts.  Last night was also the first full male bout in Arizona.  The men were fun to watch, but not as much fun as the women!

Sadly, I didn't bring my Nikon D80.  I only brought my Canon PowerShot SD1100IS, which does not take very good pictures inside the roller derby.  But I did get a couple videos.

The guy doing the jumps is Quadzilla with the Colorado Big Horns.
He's a bad ass skater; on and off the track!

Hubs and I decided to purchase some shirts this time around.

I got one to support my team; Brawlarinas!
I love badass broads in tutus! :) (pardon the face)

We also found shirts we liked from a local clothing store.

My shirt! I love seeing Rosie all tattooed up!

Hubs shirt! His friend that went also got the same one.

We also caught a free shirt during half time!

Last night we had a great time.  I allowed myself to loosen up and be nice to the girl that's going to Vegas.  I don't want to ruin my trip because I'm too stubborn.  Speaking of Vegas!  We are leaving late Tuesday night and Wednesday I will be meeting the lovely Honey B.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. What did you do?

Wordless Wednesday

I recently purchased a camera bag and accessories off Etsy from Gypsy Rose Handbags and I finally got them in the mail yesterday.  I was super excited!  [Not pictured is another camera lens cozy.  I've already emailed her and fixed the problem; should be getting that cozy soon.]

Don't you just loooove it?!

I can eventually use my camera bag as a diaper bag.  I even ordered it in a more neutral design so I could use it with a boy or girl.

Sorry for the not so 'wordless' Wednesday post.  How do you like my extremely adorable camera bag?!

Tattoo Tuesday

There were a few request to see all of my tattoos. I've also been wanting to share them with you for awhile.  So we have Tattoo Tuesday.  Join along if you have one to share.

A lot of my tattoos don't have deep or profound meanings. I got them because I like them and I don't reget any of them. I will go in chronological order; as best as I can remember. There was a period in time when I get getting tattooed quite frequently. So let's start...

Picture has been edited so you don't see my buttcrack.
I'm sure you're thankful for that. ;)

Stars (2); Location: lower back; Age: 15

Yes, I was young. I don't know what my parents were thinking. I must have been pretty persuasive. Anyhow, underneath the blue star I have a birth mark. I was always extremely self concious of it; starting at a really young age. My parents had recently been tattooed on a trip to Hawaii. On that trip they were going to let me get one, but I wasn't sure what I wanted at the time. So they let me get my belly button pierced instead. A few months later though I had decided what I wanted and found a place that would let me get tattooed at 15, so my parents let me. And since then I haven't been self concious of it.

These tattoos never healed properly the first time around. So I got them touched up by one an artist that I went to for most of them. I originally got them at Crawling Squid Tattoo; which I will never go back to. And then got them touched up by Eric who was originally with Divinity Tattoo.

Do you have a tattoo to share?

Take A Hike

This post is going to be heavy on pictures.  All pictures you can click to enlarge.

Hubs and I finally decided to go hiking; I'd only been bugging him about it for a few months.  We're so happy we finally went.  We felt great afterwards.  I just wonder how sore we are going to be tomorrow; I sure felt the burn a few times.  I'd really like to bring the dogs out there once we work on their leash training.

You see that parking lot way out there?  That's where we parked.

Hubs posed for this photo. He's adorable.

A trail we walked up.

I snapped this one without him knowing. Sneaky.

I figured I should probably post a picture of myself.

Enjoying the wonderful breeze.  And watching other families hike.

Hubs likes to give pictures a weird angle.

That sign says "Trail Closed".
We accidentally walked down it; oops!

I've decided that I'd like to start posting more about the books that I read.  Books are a large part of my life.  I haven't decided if I'm going to do a review [I'm pretty awkward with reviews] or if I'll just write a little blurb about them [blurbs are more my style].  Maybe when I share whatever I'm reading then you can share what you're reading.  That sounds like a good plan to me.  What do you think?

These are the first erotica books that I've ever read.  It was quite strange, definitely a new experience.  They are BDSM eroticas; even weirder.  Each book focused on two main characters, but in the next book they would show up again.  If the author writes another I'll definitely read it.

This book was cheesy and predictable, but I still found it adorable.  It's another erotica, but I didn't realize it was.  I guess the title Slow Hands should have been a pointer.  The erotica kind of jumped out and smacked me in the face.  I never thought I would be a fan of the Harlequin books, but I guess I am.

Right now I'm reading As Young As We Feel by Meloday Carlson.  I've read some of her Dairy of a Teenage Girl books before.  What are you reading?

Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred

Oh boy!  Did I underestimate this and overestimate myself?  I forget how out of shape I am.  The jumping jacks killed me.  Jumping jacks! SERIOUSLY!  And the push ups.  Jillian, thanks for reminding me that I have no upper body strength.

Well, I didn't finish the whole 20 minutes, but I'm proud of myself for even trying it this morning.  I got about half way through.  But that's a step.  Tomorrow morning I'm hoping to do a little more.

Tonight I'm thinking about trying The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Weight Loss Yoga.  Has anyone tried this yet?  How did you like it?

Trying To Look At The Bright Side

Well, as I tweeted this morning; AF showed up.  And early too.  I knew she was on her way though.  All her usual signs were there: horrendous back pains, I was getting bitchier than usual and the free coffee I snagged at Dunkin' Donuts yesterday was giving me an upset stomach.  [Coffee only makes me sick around my period; retarded.]

Hubs knew that AF was coming around so he was trying to get me to look at the brightside of the situation.  Which was very sweet of him. :)  He's been a great support system lately.

--On our Vegas vacation I'll actually be able to drink the three feet [strawberry] margaritas I've been dreaming about.

--I'll be able to use the ovulation strips and Pre-Seed that I just bought over the weekend on Amazon.

--I can start doing the 30 Day Shred that I've been putting off for the past month (or two).  I honestly can't wait to do this.  I know it's going to kill me, but in a good way.  I've felt disgusting for months and it's finally time to do something about it.

--I started riding our recumbent bike. Last night I rode 5 miles and this morning I rode 2.5; it's definitely a start.

Do you try to look at the bright side?  I know it's hard to sometimes.

I just really liked this.

My Uneventful [But Perfect] Weekend

  • Friday Hubs and I went on a date.  We originally planned to go to Olive Garden, but the wait was 30-35 minutes.  We were pretty hungry already so we went to Garcia's Mexican Restaurant instead.
  • We hung out with a few of Hubs "redneck" friends before dinner.
  • We went to breakfast at Bill Johnson's Big Apple and did some light shopping at Walmart on Saturday morning.
  • We saw my "sister-in law" for a little bit on Saturday night.  I was able to talk to her about trying to conceive without any judgement.  She's expecting a little girl soon.
  • I got to spend some time loving on my fur babies.
Root Beer (via Hubs iPhone)

  • I've been spotting today, but AF isn't due for about five days.  Possibly implantation, so I guess we will see in a few days if AF shows up or if I decide to test.
  • My favorite: relaxing in bed with Hubs on a gorgeous rainy day.

How did you spend your weekend?
