Tattoo Tuesday

It's been awhile since I've posted and I apologize for that.

If you want to catch up on the other Tattoo Tuesday posts go here.

Hope; Location: top of right wrist; Age: 22

This is just a little reminder to have hope.  It's as simple as that.  Because we all know there are times when we need a little hope.

Also, I'm wondering if any of you would be interested in having your tattoo featured on my blog on Tuesday's.  If so, email me and we can work something out.  kaitlin[at]ahmymarriedlife[dot].com

Tattoo Thursday

Welcome to the [extremely late] tenth round of Tattoo Tuesday/Thursday.  Sorry it's been awhile since my last tattoo post.  I've just been out of the groove lately.

Haven't seen my other tattoos?  Then get caught up: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth.

Relax; Location: top of left wrist; Age: 20

If you know me then you know I worry and stress.  A LOT.  I've been better about it.  This tattoo is supposed to be a constant reminder for me to relax.  I chose a very obvious place for it so I would see it all the time.  Wouldn't do me any good if I put it on the back of my neck.

When I first got this tattoo Hubs would constantly tell me to look at my wrist when I was freaking out or stressing about something.  But he doesn't do it that much anymore.  Thank goodness!

I'm trying to think of ideas for my other wrist.  I'm open to suggestions!

If you have a tattoo, I would love for you to share it with me.

Tattoo Thursday

Welcome to the tenth round of Tattoo Tuesday.  This week it's on a Thursday because I'm lazy.  (To be honest, I completely forgot about this tattoo until about an hour before I started writing this post.  It's in a spot I hardly ever see!)

Get caught up: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth.

Anchor; Location: left hip bone area; Age: 19

Don't mind the awkward skin color.  You can thank poor lighting.  I'm really as white as a ghost, it's rather pathetic, haha!

Well, I like anchors and my father was in the Navy.  So, I got an anchor.  Pretty simple.  I really like it and wish I could show it off more, but I need to tone up a bit in that area.

Do you have a tattoo you'd like to share?  Leave a comment telling me about it!

Tattoo Thursday

Welcome to the ninth round of Tattoo Tuesday.  This week it's on a Thursday because I wanted to post about my graduation on Tuesday.

Get caught up: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth.

I updated last weeks Tattoo Tuesday because I forgot to include something.  Go!

<3; Location: inside of right wrist; Age 19

Simply, I got this tattoo for Hubs.  I got it in August of 2007, only a month and a half after dating.  I was in love and I wanted to show Hubs that.  He knew already though.  He has a matching one that he got a year or so prior on his left calf.

I surprised him with it when he came home from Virginia after his grandmother's funeral.  He was completely surprised.

People thought I was crazy, specifically a close friend at the time.  She told me I would regret it.  I figured that it wasn't as bad as getting his name tattooed on me.  To this day, I haven't regreted this tattoo.

Hubs <3 on his left calf.

Tattoo Tuesday

Welcome to the eighth round of Tattoo Tuesday (or Thursday, depending on how I'm feeling that week).

If you've missed the others: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh.

Isn't my dad a great photographer? ;)

Who Needs Air; Location: right forearm; Age: 18

The story for this tattoo it short and sweet.  It's the title of my favorite song by one of my favorite bands.  If you know who they were before you read this, then you're awesome!  I'm attaching the song so you'll get to hear how wonderful it is.  It's alright if you don't like it because I do. :)

UPDATED!

My tattoo appeared in the May 2008 issue of Flash, a tattoo magazine.  When I went to Six Flags almost two years ago and while we were there a random girl noticed this tattoo when we were waiting in line for one of the coasters.  It was so weird!

Tattoo Tuesday [On A Thursday]

Welcome to the seventh round of Tattoo Tuesday.  This week it's on Thursday though.  I apologize for that, but Tuesday I was so tired and blogging wasn't happening.  Enjoy!

If you've missed the others: first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth.

FYI: These are awful pictures.  I'll have Hubs take better ones when I get home with a nice camera, not my crap iPhone one.

Mirror picture.

Mirror picture.

Regular picture.

Pin-Up [Charlie]; Location: upper left arm; Age: 18

I don't have a picture of the original pin-up.  But we found her picture in a huge book full of pin-up magazine covers.

I absolutely adore pin-up models.  They're gorgeous, sexy and full of confidence.  Something I've always wished I've had.  I thought about trying out for Suicide Girls (WARNING: link not safe for work. Sorry Kate!) to be a more present day pin-up.  I actually submitted an application and got accepted.  The next step was to send them a set, but I just couldn't get up the nerve to do it.

I'm not 100% happy with Charlie, there are a few things I wish I could change, but I still love her.

I plan on getting another pin-up model eventually.  Not sure when, but I know I either want to get it on the side of my calf or thigh.  For the next one I plan on doing more research and finding one that can represent me in a pin-up form.

How did Charlie get her name?  It's a variation of my best friend [at the times] name.  Her name is Charlene and a bunch of her family called her Charlie.  And my tattoo has similar features of hers, so we just decided to call her Charlie.  It's stuck ever since.  [Sadly, Charlene and I aren't friends anymore.  Shortly after I started dating Hubs, Charlene stopped speaking to me.  I've tried to contact her, but I get no response.  Anyways, that's another story.]

Welcome to the sixth round of Tattoo Tuesday. Enjoy!

If you've missed the others: first, second, third, fourth and fifth.

Corvette Symbol; Location: left bicep; Age: 18

This tattoo is my funny random tattoo.  I've had an obsession with Corvette's for awhle.  [Hubs wants me to point out that I've never been in one. Sadly.]  But that doesn't stop it from being my dream car.

1969 Stingray Corvette

How can you not love that?  *Sigh*

Tattoo Tuesday

This is the fifth round of Tattoo Tuesday.  I hope I get some people linking up this week.  I know tattoos aren't extremely popular in the blogging world, but they are a large part of my life.

If you've missed the others: first, second, third and fourth.

I like to joke that it says, "I'm perfect".

Imperfect; Location: inside of left wrist; Age 18

Imperfect is pretty self explanatory.  No one is perfect, no matter how much they like to think they are.  And I know I'm not.

One of my favorite quotes is; "Imperfections are what make us perfect."

My close friend (and maid of honor at my wedding) bought this tattoo for me as a birthday present.

Y'all like my new logo?! Thank you, Tillie!

Welcome to the fourth round of Tattoo Tuesday.  I hope you join in on the fun!  I'd love to get people all around participating!

Hubs got creative! :)

Me; Heart Lock; Location: inside of left forearm; Age 18

Hubs; Key; Location: inside of right forearm; Age: 22

I've always kept my heart locked up when it came to dating people.  I was hurt in all of my relationships, friendships and by boyfriend, so it just seemed easier that way.  I decided I wanted to get a tattoo to represent that figurative lock I had on my heart.  I wanted a visual so people knew that my heart was locked up and wouldn't easily be taken advantage of.  I was hoping one day a worthy guy would come around that would actually want and work for the key.  Low and behold he did, a lot sooner than I was expecting.

Enter: Hubs.  We starting dating a few months before I turned 19.  We fell in love fast and everything progressed quickly after that.  I knew I wanted to marry him a few months after dating.  But that's a story for another time.

While we were still dating, a few months before he proposed, Hubs decided he wanted to get a key tattooed on his forearm.  The opposite one of mine, so when we hold hands they touch.  It's such a beautiful and meaningful thing he did for me.  I'm so lucky he found me.

Cute shoes! Hubs said my feet look long; jerk!

Sparrows with banners (2); Location: top of feet; Age: 18

These tattoos are pretty self-explanatory; they're for my parents!

While searching around in the internet, I saw something similar to these and decided they were what I wanted to get done for my 18th birthday.  I tried to keep them a surprise for my parents, but I gave my mom a hint before leaving to get them done.  My dad was out of town, so they weren't really hard to hide from him.

I remember how excited my dad was when I showed them to him.  He wanted to take pictures of them right away to show his friends.

Tattoo Tuesday

I had Hubs zoom out a bit so you could see where it is.

Plumeria and Hibiscus; Location: right shoulder; Age: 16

This one is a mother/daughter tattoo. My mom has hers in the same place; except it's smaller than mine.  There's not a huge meaning behind this tattoo just we had talked about getting a tattoo together and the perfect time seemed to be when we were in Hawaii.  It was a good was to remember the trip we went on.

We got them at Blue Kauai Tattoo in Hanalei, Hawaii by Lad. Blue Kauai doesn't exist anymore; it is now Uncle Tim Tattoo or Blue Tiki.

This is still one of my favorite tattoos.  I love the colors and the simplicity of it.  I never knew how much of a passion tattoos would be for me.

Tattoo Tuesday

There were a few request to see all of my tattoos. I've also been wanting to share them with you for awhile.  So we have Tattoo Tuesday.  Join along if you have one to share.

A lot of my tattoos don't have deep or profound meanings. I got them because I like them and I don't reget any of them. I will go in chronological order; as best as I can remember. There was a period in time when I get getting tattooed quite frequently. So let's start...

Picture has been edited so you don't see my buttcrack.
I'm sure you're thankful for that. ;)

Stars (2); Location: lower back; Age: 15

Yes, I was young. I don't know what my parents were thinking. I must have been pretty persuasive. Anyhow, underneath the blue star I have a birth mark. I was always extremely self concious of it; starting at a really young age. My parents had recently been tattooed on a trip to Hawaii. On that trip they were going to let me get one, but I wasn't sure what I wanted at the time. So they let me get my belly button pierced instead. A few months later though I had decided what I wanted and found a place that would let me get tattooed at 15, so my parents let me. And since then I haven't been self concious of it.

These tattoos never healed properly the first time around. So I got them touched up by one an artist that I went to for most of them. I originally got them at Crawling Squid Tattoo; which I will never go back to. And then got them touched up by Eric who was originally with Divinity Tattoo.
