That Thankful Time of Year

Well, seeing as how Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I going to share a few things I'm thankful for.

  • OBVIOUSLY ROB!  He drives me crazy, but I love him.  I'm not sure who or where I would be without him.
  • MY JOB! I hate it on a regular basis.  But because of my job I'm able to make money and we are able to pay our bills and put food on the table (even though we never eat at a table).
  • MY NEW EYES!  This past week I was finally able to afford LASIK.  Thanks to a little bit of help from my parents too!
  • MY FAMILY! I'm thankful to have parents who still want to do whatever they can to help me. And I'm thankful have great in laws. I thankful my brother, sister in law and the extremely adorable boys that made me an aunt.
  • BOOKS! You're crazy if you didn't think I was going to mention books. I'm thankful for being able to buy them and for the publishers and authors that send them to me.

I'm also thankful for: My puppies. Hulu Plus. Sons of Anarchy. Refresh Plus eye drops. Twitter! Music. Internet. My iPhone.

There are so many things to be thankful for.

I know I personally take a lot of things for granted in my life.  I think we could all learn how to appreciate everything around us a little bit more.

What are you thankful for? I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Five Question Friday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I sure did, but it was very busy!  We went to two Thanksgiving's that were 52 miles apart!

I've had a wonderful time off work so far, but I haven't done as much reading as I would like.  Hopefully over the next two days I can do some more.

1. What is your favorite part of a Thanksgiving meal?

I really don't have a favorite part of the meal.  I don't like much of the Thanksgiving food.  But I enjoy the time with my Husband and family.

2. Are you a host or a guest for Thanksgiving this year?

I was a guest at both of the Thanksgiving's I went to.  But at my in laws I actually cooked the ham and prime rib and that was my very first time cooking either one of those.  The ham was fantastic and I only had a bite of the prime rib so I don't really know how that was.

3. When you think of one Thanksgiving tradition, what comes to mind?

Well now the tradition for Thanksgiving is making peanut butter pies with the in laws.  This year was the first time we did it but it's much easier to just make them with the entire family then making them on my own every year, plus we get to hang out with family.

4. You have two pieces of pie in front of you and you HAVE to eat one...do you choose pumpkin or pecan?

I don't really like pies, but out of the two I would choose pumpkin.  The only pie I eat is the peanut butter pie that I just mentioned.

5. Are you a Black Friday Shopper?

Heck no!  I would kind of like to be, but I just don't have the patience for all the people.  I would be a cranky pants all day and it wouldn't be fun for anyone.

Also! If you're a new follower then say "HI" and give me a link to your blog so I can check it out and follow it!

A Review of 2009

For me, I'm going to have to say that 2009 was a pretty great year.

  • The love of my life asked me to marry him in front of my parents on the front porch of their house on January 19th.
  • I was then lucky enough to marry the love of my life on a gorgeous beach in La Jolla on April 7th.
  • I started this blog shortly after our wedding. I never expected people to actually read it!
  • We held our reception at my parents house on May 23rd.
  • Kenai and Root Beer turned a year old in June.
  • My wonderfully adorable nephew, Grayson, was born on June 30th.
  • In July, we decided to throw out the birth control.
  • I soon found the great community of bloggers, whom I love dearly.
  • I turned 21 on September 1st.
  • We celebrated our first Thanksgiving as a married couple.
  • We celebrated our first Christmas as a married couple.
  • Both of our mothers found out about us being off the pill.  Not so much great, but I'm glad that's kind of just out in the open now.
  • We didn't get pregnant this year, but I'm hopeful for 2010.
  • Tonight Hubs and I will get to share our first New Years kiss as Husband and Wife, and I couldn't be more excited.
I'm positive 2010 will be great. Have a great New Year!

I'm Very Thankful

I just wanted to take a moment to list a few of the things that I'm thankful for.  That's what Thanksgiving is for -- giving thanks.

  • My wonderful, wonderful husband.  I'm so thankful that we found eachother.  I couldn't see my life without him.
  • My job.  I hate it sometimes, but I'm still really glad I have it.  I'm glad I can still bring in a pay check twice a month.
  • My house.  No matter how awful paying the mortgage is, I'm happy I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in.
  • My animals.  They always show me unconditional love no matter what -- and for that I am extremely thankful.
  • My parents and parents-in-law.  They're there for us and they'll always love us.  I feel extremely lucky to have them.
What are you thankful for?  I'm going to spend time with my family now.  I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

November

Well, it's the start of a new month. It's the start of the holidays. I'm excited, sorta. I don't get Thanksgiving. I don't enjoy gorging myself with food. But I am quite excited for Christmas. My love for Christmas has been coming back slowly, but surely. Last year was when it really started. I had decorations that my parents had given me that we've had for years and my own house to decorate how I chose.

Last week I asked Hubs if I could put up the Christmas decorations this weekend. He told me no. :( My reasoning is I don't have any Thanksgiving decorations and I would love to celebrate Christmas for two months, but apparently Hubs isn't feeling that way. Maybe this week I'll be able to change his mind. First, I must take down the Halloween decorations.
So far we don't even have plans for Thanksgiving. Last year it was at our house, since it was brand new. But this year there hasn't been any mention about Thanksgiving. My brother invited my parents over to his house, but I haven't heard a word from him. Almost makes me a little sad. Maybe Hubs and I will do something with just the two of us, since this is our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife. That sounds good, but I know I wouldn't make a turkey! And I'm not too sure how he would feel about that.

Ah! Don't even get me started on Christmas. I have no idea what I'm going to get anyone for Christmas! I know Whitney is going to get my a leopard print Snuggie! You have no idea how excited I am for that. I'll have to start asking everyone what they want now so I can start saving!

YAY FOR THE HOLIDAYS! :)
