Thanks For Trying

I got my first ridiculous Facebook comment yesterday.

"Hey I say start the process of adoption and watch God do a miracle!!!
U'll be pregnant soon! Happens a lot!"

This comment came after I posted this:

"Infertility is a heart-wrenching, faith-questioning, relationship-testing, life-altering experience. April is Infertility Awareness Month. Whether a friend, a family member, a colleague or yourself has fought through this difficult fate that MILLIONS of people are fighting day in and day out, post this as your status if you or someone you know has walked to hell & back for the chance to be a MOM or DAD."

I was baffled and confused.  And most of all pissed.  I didn't want to respond on the heat of the moment, so I decided I would leave the comment there and either respond or message her the next day.  But lo and behold my dear friend Holly, that I've met through the blogging community, left a great response to this woman since I was too stunned to respond nicely.

"that is a common misconception that often hurts and diminishes the reality of those who are trying to conceive as well as those who are trying to or have adopted"

The thing that bugs me the most about this comment is how out of the blue it came.  I've never once mentioned that we are TTC on Facebook and I've never once mentioned that we've been having difficulties TTC.  So the fact that this woman (who hardly knows me) just posted this on my wall without knowing anything about my situation is just frustrating.

For National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), I'm thinking about coming out of the closet on Facebook.  I still want to discuss it with Rob, but chances are high that I'll be coming out.

I know many of you did last year.  How did you say?  I could use help.

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

I can't believe it's been 2 years.  It feels like just yesterday that we got married but it feel like I've been with him forever.  It's a wonderful feeling.

We've had a wonderful day.

We woke up and juiced.  We've been slacking the last few days.  We did a shot of juice with wheat grass.  It's quite disgusting.  It tastes like dirt and hay.  Yuck!  When we came upstairs there was a card hidden under my laptop from Rob, which is super adorable because he's not much of a card guy.  And of course I had a card for him hidden behind my back.

Then we got ready to head out for the day.  First, we went to Castles N' Coasters for some arcade game fun!  We spent a few hours there using up the game credits we've had since the last time we went about a year ago.

We left there around 1pm to hit up the food court at the mall across the street for a little lunch.  Afterward we went over to the movie theater to see Sucker Punch, which we both enjoyed.  (I might do a small review on the movie.)

Rob and I weren't quite ready for dinner yet since the movie only ended at 4pm.  So Rob drove us over to Barnes & Noble for some looking around since I've had a gift card there since Christmas time.  I found a book of 1000 Pin-Up Girls that I decided I needed since I'd really like to get another pin-up girl tattoo someday.

It turned out that Rob made arrangements for dinner already.  He'd made a reservation for us at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen.  Neither of us had ever been there before.  It was alright, but seeing as how I'm not a fan of seafood I didn't have very many options.  I ended up ordering the filet mignon which I didn't particularly like, but the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and I got to try asparagus for the first time too!

My new book. My anniversary drink; Swampthing. My anniversary dinner.

At dinner Rob admitted that he bought me something for our anniversary; an Arizona shot glass.  (I collect shot glasses from where ever I visit.  My family has definitely helped add to the collection, as well.)  Recently we've discussed moving states so he told me I needed a shot glass from Arizona.  I thought it was a really great idea.

After dinner we came back home and watched Kick-Ass.  I don't think I'd ever watch it again and it wasn't that funny, which was disappointing.

Now we're just relaxing.  It's been quite a busy day for us.  I hope everyone else had a wonderful day as well!  And have a fantastic Friday! :)

Yuck, no.  No offense.  I just don't have the perkiness for that.

Did you ever date a jock in high school?

I dated a football player for a little awhile.  But I didn't date much in high school.  I was shy and didn't put myself out there very well.

It's been awhile since I've posted and I apologize for that.

This is just a little reminder to have hope.  It's as simple as that.  Because we all know there are times when we need a little hope.
