OPK's and OB's ... Oh My!

Well, I've officially entered the 2ww.  I got my first positive OPK on Sunday.  (First meaning this is the first cycle where I've remembered to test more than once.  Thank you, phone alarm!)  Which was CD 13 and I thought that would be early for my cycles which are around 30-33 days.

This is the first cycle where I've felt real hope.  And that scares me.

Everytime I think this could be it there is always a voice in the back of my head that thinks that maybe it didn't work this time and I'm just going to be let down.

I know that I'm going to need some major distractions this 2ww. Give me your suggestions!  Maybe I'll actually finish the book I'm reading!

How many DPO do you usually wait to test?

In other news, I have an OB appointment on November 12th (it will be CD 25, approximately 11/12 DPO).  This will be my first one since we've been TTC.  I've recently started making a list of questions and things I need to tell the doctor.

Anything you recommend that I ask him?

I Know I Have

I'm sure we've all read tons of posts on the 2ww (two week wait). I know I have.

I'm sure we've all heard from at least one pregnant or previously pregnant person that symptoms don't happen right away. I know I have.

I'm sure we all [over]analyzed every single twitch or difference in our bodies during that damn 2ww. I know I have.

I'm sure we've all looked at our chart counting how many DPO (days past ovulation) we were so we knew when we'd be able to take a pregnancy test. I know I have.

This damn 2ww is driving me insane. And I'm only 5-6 DPO!

Is there any chance that I could get my brain removed for about 5-7 days without any damage being done to it or myself? If you know of a way, please let me know. ASAP!

How do you cope during the 2ww?  I'm open to suggestions.

Entering Into My 2ww

According to a couple of the fertility calculators that I use I'm officially on my two week wait (2ww).  Sadly, I don't officially know when (or if) I ovulate.  We're still going to BD (baby dance) to be safe; just in case I ovulate later than the calendars suggest.

I don't really feel like we did everything we could this time around.  So I'm going to try to not get my hopes up.  More than anything I want this month to be the month, but if not we can always try again.

To help me with the small problem of not knowing when I ovulate I really want to buy the OveCue Fertility Monitor.  I'm still working on convincing Hubs and trying to get the funds.  Which is one of the reasons why I'm selling a bunch of my books.  Don't forget to check out my Amazon store, From Me To You!

Do any of you use OvaCue or have another fertility monitor that you use?  Tell me about it.  Where are you in your cycle?

My First OPK

Yesterday I took my first OPK.  I'm not sure why I never got around to taking one the last few months since I've been off the pill.  I think I might have just been scared of the results.

Sorry about the poor quality.

The line was a little darker in person than it was in this picture.  But this gives me hope for this month.  Actually seeing that line and knowing that I (hopefully) ovulated is a good feeling.

Yesterday I also decided that I would start charting my temps.  I purchased the digital basal thermometer from Fairhaven Health.  To my surprise it was on sale from $11.95 to $8.95 and I found a 10% off coupon online!  A few months ago when I bought Fertility Facts from Conceive Online, I also bought The Fertility Journal.  It has areas where you can chart everything, so once I get my thermometer I'm going to start using that as well.

I'm about to enter into my 2ww, so that should be a fun time.  I'm definitely going to need something to distract me!  Good luck to other 2ww ladies!
