All I Want For Christmas

All I want for Christmas is a blog makeover by:

Someone want to buy it for me?! :D
I've been a good girl this year!
I'm also really interested in buying my domain name (http://www.ahthemarriedlife.com/). Something I'm going to have to talk over with Hubs, I'm sure. I already mentioned it to him today. I really wanted to change my blog address to http://ahthemarriedlife.blogspot.com/, but I found out that it's already taken. That was a sad day. But my domain name is available and it's only $10 for a year! I wonder if you can buy it for longer though... I'll have to do some research. I think I might be able to convince Hubs to let me get the blog makeover for Christmas since there really isn't anything else that I want.

Texas

Yesterday I received a text message from Hubs saying, "We're moving to Texas in March." I was some what put off by that statement. When he said "we're moving" I had assumed he meant his work, for some reason. So I asked for clarification, but he did not mean his work. He mean "we're" as in him and me.

Him wanting to move comes as no surprise to me. He's been talking about it for at least the past year, maybe longer. Hubs is originally from Alaska, so this hot Phoenix sun is making him melt. We've talked about moving cooler places in state. Such as; Prescott, Prescott Valley, Flagstaff, Chino Valley, etc. Those are all great ideas, but it's not a good time to move. Considering we "own" our house. The market isn't in a good place to sell.

I'm a Phoenix native. This place is all I know, so the idea of moving freaks me out! Moving in state wouldn't be as bad, at least then we would be close enough to both of our families in case anything happened or if we had kids they would still be close enough to see their grandparents often. But moving to another state means losing that closeness with our families. In a way, that's a good thing. It let's us get out on our own.

The crazy thing about it is, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea. Going somewhere new. [Hopefully] meeting new people, making new friends. [Possibly] finding a job that I actually like! The possibilities are endless. Also, we wouldn't be that far away, it's not like we are wanting to move to New York.

Hubs and I have never actually been to Texas before, but one of his close friends is originally from there and would love to go back one day. We've already talked about the fact that we would need to visit Texas first to even see what part of it we would want to live in. He's suggested Tyler, Mesquite and Terrell. Oh how I wish the fictional town of Dillon from Friday Night Lights was real!

Don't even get me started on how awesome it would be to live with all the people from Friday Night Lights. I would be in my own personal version of Heaven.

Have you ever moved out of state? If so, how did it change your life? Was is scary? Do you ever regret it? Do you still talk to/see your families often?

Shammy the Pumpkin

I forgot to post a picture of Shamu the pumpkin after he got fins!

Well, it's the start of a new month. It's the start of the holidays. I'm excited, sorta. I don't get Thanksgiving. I don't enjoy gorging myself with food. But I am quite excited for Christmas. My love for Christmas has been coming back slowly, but surely. Last year was when it really started. I had decorations that my parents had given me that we've had for years and my own house to decorate how I chose.

Last week I asked Hubs if I could put up the Christmas decorations this weekend. He told me no. :( My reasoning is I don't have any Thanksgiving decorations and I would love to celebrate Christmas for two months, but apparently Hubs isn't feeling that way. Maybe this week I'll be able to change his mind. First, I must take down the Halloween decorations.
So far we don't even have plans for Thanksgiving. Last year it was at our house, since it was brand new. But this year there hasn't been any mention about Thanksgiving. My brother invited my parents over to his house, but I haven't heard a word from him. Almost makes me a little sad. Maybe Hubs and I will do something with just the two of us, since this is our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife. That sounds good, but I know I wouldn't make a turkey! And I'm not too sure how he would feel about that.

Ah! Don't even get me started on Christmas. I have no idea what I'm going to get anyone for Christmas! I know Whitney is going to get my a leopard print Snuggie! You have no idea how excited I am for that. I'll have to start asking everyone what they want now so I can start saving!

YAY FOR THE HOLIDAYS! :)
