Day 3 - Your Favorite TV Show

How can you not love this show?

I've been obsessed with is ever since it came out.  I've never missed an episode.

Five Question Friday

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it?

I did have a favorite blanket.  It was passed down from my brother to me.  I just called it Blankey.  It's yellow and blue patchwork on top and I'm pretty sure just solid blue on the back.  And it's pretty much out of stuffing.  My parents still have Blankey at their house in a drawer.  It's pretty much useless but it holds a lot of memories.

2. Do you dream in color?

I think I do sometimes.  I don't remember my dreams enough to notice.

3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller?

In high school I wished I was taller because I played volleyball.  Now I'm pretty okay with my height.  Sometimes I wish I was shorter though because Hubs and I are pretty much the same height.

4. If you could have anyone's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be?

Someone with a British accent.  I love Brits.

5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot?

That depends on how I'm feeling.  Normally either Hubs or myself returns it to the corral.

Day 2 - Your Favorite Movie

If I had to pick one, it would have to be GREASE.

I love John Travolta.  I adore Olivia Newton-John.  So this has got to be it.  I know every single song.  Everytime I see GREASE on tv I can't help but watch it.  This is the one movie I can never get tired of.

Runner-ups are...

*sigh* Jake Ryan

I love [serious] Will Ferrell.

What's your favorite movie?

A Bit of an Update

Lately I've just been doing meme's.  I just don't feel like I have much to actually write about.  I wake up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, read or watch television, and sleep.  Then I wake up and do it all over again.  No one wants to hear about that boring stuff.

Hubs is still looking for a job.  He currently temporarily employed by my work.  He's been helping us pack and move.  This weekend my office was moved from the 18th and 19th floors to the newly renovated 14th and 15th floors.  That's probably the most exciting thing going on in my life.  It's been wonderful going to work with Hubs and seeing him around the office.

He hasn't heard from anyone he's emailed.  But we recently asked my boss, a very high up attorney, if he could pass Hubs resume along to some people and he did.  Which is great, so we're hoping to get a hit off of that.

Hubs and I were going to go into the office today to get my desk set up and help other people.  But when we got up I checked my work emails and found out we couldn't go down there until after 2:00 pm, which just seemed like a waste.

So, instead we went to the movies.  We saw Grown Ups.

Grown Ups was hilarious.  It's been a long time since we went to the movies to see a funny movie.  I love Kevin James and Adam Sandler.  It was great to see Chris Rock in something other than stand up and his character was unlike anything I've ever seen him do, which was great.  Definitely recommend it.

Afterwards, we came home and decided officially not to go into work.  So we got comfy and got into bed to hang out for the rest of the day.

So I took this time to finally add some books to Paperback Swap.  Feel free to add me as a friend.  Or you could even request some books for me.

I'm hoping to get into a habit of writing regularly, but inspiration hasn't been hitting recently.  Do you have any tips on how to keep your writing strong and going day to day?  Some days I don't feel like I'm cut out to do this.  I don't have an exciting life to blog about everyday.  That's why I do meme's.

Where do you find inspiration?

Getting to know YOU

I found this fun meme thanks to Maranda at My Camo Colored Life.  This meme is hosted by Keely at MannLand5.

1. Thong or Granny Panties?

There's no inbetween?  I prefer boy shorts.

2. If you see a guy with his fly down, do you tell him?

Probably not, that would be awkward.  Especially if I don't know him.

3. Spanx or no Spanx?

Depends on what I'm wearing.  Normally no Spanx.

4. Do you sleep in your sheets?

No, we only use the comforter.  I don't even put the loose sheet on the bed.

5. What is your favorite Disney character?

Mulan. Hands down.

6. Dream vacation spot?

England.  I've always wanted to go.

7. What is your dream job?

Professional blogger.  But I don't think I'm good enough for that.

8. Who is your hero and why?

My brother.  When I was little I used to ask him what he wanted to be when he grew up.  He always told me he wanted to be a professional baseball player.  To me that sounded silly.  I didn't think that was real.  But in college my brother was actually drafted to a minor leauge baseball team.  And he even played some ball for a Canadian team.  He followed his dream.  Sadly now he doesn't play.  He was released because of a shoulder injury.

Five Question Friday [on a Saturday]

I meant to do this yesterday, but I was so busy with packing and moving at work.  And all I wanted to do when I got home was to relax.

1. What were your school colors?

Royal Blue and Orange.

2. What's the best compliment you ever received?

The one that sticks out the most is when Hubs told me that I looked beautiful on our wedding day.

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?

I buy the bulk pack from Costco.  It's not the best, but it's definitely the best value!

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?

Nope and yes, I've helped with one for with my long time BFF, Whitney.  This was year ago though.

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?

Probably my iPhone.  Lately it's been driving me nuts though because the latest update messed with the 3G iPhones.

Birthday Wishes

Well, my birthday is coming up soon.  September 1st to be exact.  Normally I don't want anything, but this year there are a few things this year.

Medium Cosmetic Bag from Vera Bradley: $21

I would love to have these to match my adorable messenger bag.

Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich: $7.99

I have every book in the Stephanie Plum series except these two.

Book Fairy: Priceless

I few book bloggers that I follow have Book Fairy's and I want one.
All you have to do is send me books!  That's not a tough job. ;)

Book Review: One for the Money

"Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, home to the wiseguys, average Joes, and Stephanie Plum, who sports a big attitude and even bigger money problems (since losing her job as a lingerie buyer for a deparment store).  Stephanie needs cash -- fast -- but times are tough, and soon she's forced to turn to the last resort of the truly desperate: family.

Stephanie lands a gig at her sleazy souzin Vinnie's bail bonding company.  She's got no experience, but that doesn't matter. Neither does the fact that the bail jumber in question is local vice cop Joe Morelli.  From the time he first looked up her dress to the time he first got into her pants to the time Steph hit him with her father's Buick, M-o-r-e-l-l-i had spelled t-r-o-u-b-l-e.  And now the hot guy is in hot water -- wanted for murder.

Abject poverty is a great motivator for learning new skills, but being trained in the school of hard knocks by people like psycho prizefighter Benito Ramirez isn't.  Still, if Stephanie can nab Morelli in a week, she'll make a cool ten grand.  All she has to do is become an expert bounty hunter overnight -- and keep herself from getting killed before she gets her man."

I recently finished reading One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, No. 1) by Janet Evanovich.  I couldn't put it down.  Stephanie just draws you in with her personality and her awful bounty hunter skills.  And I think I might be a little in love with Joe Morelli (shh, don't tell my husband).

Everytime Stephanie sees her mom she's complaining about her awful job as a bounty hunter and suggesting some other easy job she could get.  Grandma Mazur is always mentioning something that she saw on television.  And her father is a man of few words.

From the first page I was hooked.  If you're looking for an easy to read series with some good laughs then I definitely recommend this series.  There are still some series moments, like when Benito Ramirez is on the hunt to rape and torture Stephanie.  But all-in-all, I really enjoyed it.

Coming up next: Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, No. 2).

Our first Christmas party for my work. December 2007.

Hubs proposing. January 2009.

Wedding day. April 7, 2009.

Honeymoon. April 2009.

Happy Birthday, my love. <3
I'm so lucky to have you in my life.  I love you with all of my heart.

I Want It Now

On the 14th I ordered this adorable messenger bag from VeraBradley.com.  They were having a sale where some of the designs were only $40 (originally $84).  They shipped it on the 16th, which is a lot sooner than I had expected them to.  But I'm incredibly impatient and I want it now.

Five Question Friday

1. Do you collect anything?

Yes, I collect shot glasses.  I have a bunch.  My parents generally pick up at least one for me on every trip they go on.

2. Name 3 celebrities that you find good looking.

1. Channing Tatum (um, yes please)
2. Patrick Dempsey (McDreamy *sigh*)
3. Kristen Bell (she's adorable)

3. Do you have any scars? If so, what's the story behind it (them?)?

Yes, I do.  Quite a few minor ones from my cats.  But my worst scar is on my forehead.  I wrote about what happened here.

4. What is a food that you like to eat, but others might think it's gross or weird?

Beans, probably.  I love beans.

5. Have you ever seen a tornado in real life?

No, I would probably freak out if I did.

Tattoo Thursday

Welcome to the [extremely late] tenth round of Tattoo Tuesday/Thursday.  Sorry it's been awhile since my last tattoo post.  I've just been out of the groove lately.

Haven't seen my other tattoos?  Then get caught up: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth.

Relax; Location: top of left wrist; Age: 20

If you know me then you know I worry and stress.  A LOT.  I've been better about it.  This tattoo is supposed to be a constant reminder for me to relax.  I chose a very obvious place for it so I would see it all the time.  Wouldn't do me any good if I put it on the back of my neck.

When I first got this tattoo Hubs would constantly tell me to look at my wrist when I was freaking out or stressing about something.  But he doesn't do it that much anymore.  Thank goodness!

I'm trying to think of ideas for my other wrist.  I'm open to suggestions!

If you have a tattoo, I would love for you to share it with me.

Wordless Wednesday

This is something I need to do more of.

I've linked up at Live and Love... Out Loud.

Book Review: Enemies Foreign and Domestic

"Bullets rain down upon a packed football stadium, killing dozens, and triggering a panic stampede which leads to a thousand more deaths. A police marksman kills the sniper, a mentally unbalanced Desert Storm veteran holding a smoking assault rifle. It's an open and shut case, or so America is led to believe...

In the aftermath of the stadium massacre, an outraged public demands an end to the threat posed by assault rifles, and Congress passes emergency legislation banning their private possession. American gun owners have one week to turn in their semi-automatic rifles, or face mandatory five year federal prison terms.

Jimmy Shifflett, the alleged stadium sniper, is linked to a shadowy "gun club" in southeastern Virginia, which the FBI believes is a cover for a secret right wing militia terror group. Those who knew Shifflett the best don't believe he was a member of any militia, or that he was guilty of the horrific mass murder.

But if he didn't fire the "assault rifle" into the stadium, who did, and why?"

I just finished reading Enemies Foreign and Domestic by Matthew Bracken.  Hubs actually read this book first. He really enjoyed it and told me he would love it if I read it as well.  I wasn't sure at first, but Hubs eventually talked me into it. It took me awhile but I finally finished it.

This book felt so real.  At times when I would take a break from reading it I expected to turn on the news and see some of these events actually taking place.

They're a bit eccentric, but my Hubs is a gun nut.  So it's nothing new to me.  These books aren't for the feint of heart.  But if you're looking for something new I strongly recommend this series.

There are two more books to this series; Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista and Forgein Enemies and Traitors.  I also plan on reading these once I take a break and read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.

Go to Matthew Bracken's website and read the excerpts.  They're really good!

Five Question Friday

I first saw these by Lindsey on Austin Antics and I thought they looked fun.  So I'm going to give it a try!  I think you should try it too!

1. What is one food you could eat everyday?

Everyday... that would really depend.  But lately it seems like shredded beef enchiladas and tacos.  So good.  I think I'm becoming more and more like my mother everyday.

2. Are you working in the career you thought you would be when you were 18?

No way.  I'm still stuck at the same place that I was at at 18.  I thought I would have moved on to something bigger and better, but I'm still stuck.

3. What is something that you wish you would have done when you were younger and you didn't?

Well, I'm still young so I still have time to do things.  But I wish we had more time and money to travel and just enjoy life.

4. What color are your kitchen walls?

They're a boring off white color.  We didn't do any sort of painting when we moved into our house.  The off white worked well in the kitchen since the rest of the house is colorful.  Plus my kitchen cabinets are blue so I think any other color would have been too much.

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was?

I don't remember my favorite song, but I know my favorite group was the Spice Girls.  I love them.  I remember when my brother told me they broke up I started crying.  I was around 11.  I thought that was some of the worst news I'd ever heard.
